We’re expanding our team to ensure that our global research and insight into new trends and opportunities, and our pipeline of future investments, remains at the cutting edge of the spirits industry.

Role:

We’re looking for someone who can become the centre of our industry research, tracking the trends and opportunities in the global drinks industry, and maintaining a brilliant pipeline of future investment opportunities, overseeing the management of our network of regional researchers and finding new ways to source new opportunities.

Working at heart of the Distill Ventures team, you’ll be responsible for identifying candidate

businesses for investment, collecting and collating insight from across our network and ensuring that it gets recorded in a usable form. As much of the data we gather is in the form of conversations, or from field work, you’ll be adept at sifting through this to spot patterns. You’ll manage and grow DV’s knowledge of the market, identify trends in the global drinks scene, and play a part in capturing these trends in insight reports. We are looking for someone to be responsible for finding the best new investments, specifically:

 

  1. Research: Ownership of research plan across all categories and geographies to identify new opportunities, and managing the pipeline of investment candidates with senior stakeholders in the business

 

  1. Opportunity Evaluation: Responsible for initial review of opportunities and having conversations with entrepreneurs to find out more about their business and what makes them unique and interesting for Distill Ventures. Presentation of opportunities to decision makers at DV and Diageo. Review and management of pipeline businesses based on these conversations.

 

  1. People Management: managing the senior search executive and coordinating with others throughout the business.

 

  1. Network Management: Building and managing a broad network, including attendance at tradeshows and industry events to keep on top of industry trends and new brands.

 

Your work experience to date should include:

  • Work as a researcher or coordinator of research for 5+ years in a market research capacity OR work as an associate in a VC, private equity or bank in a capacity that involved researching categories
  • Experience evaluating opportunities and presenting them to decision makers
  • Experience reviewing and consolidating large amounts of information to help drive business goals
  • Experience of writing trend and insight reports would be a bonus

  • Experience and passion in the F&B industry is required, specific drinks industry experience would be an advantage
  • As we’re a global company, working knowledge of at least one other language would be a huge plus

  • Location – Central London office based role
  • Working hours – Full time role
  • Holiday – 25 days per year + public holidays
  • Competitive salary
